Three keynote voices frame the journey. Jayden Boundry, a Noongar language teacher and storyteller, opens the conference with a Welcome to Country that sets the tone for everything that follows. James Castrission brings a story of resilience and teamwork under extraordinary pressure. With his partner, he completed the first unsupported crossing from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and back, something no one had managed in a hundred years of polar exploration. Closing the event, filmmaker and adventurer Beau Miles reminds us why trails matter in the first place: the joy, the wonder, the pull of being outdoors.

Beyond the keynote stage, the programme includes the World Trails Network Awards, the Trails Film Festival, daily urban trail walks, live painting, and a sunset celebration on the Swan River. Monday opens with trail experiences across Western Australia, before the first session even begins.
