Benefit from our actions!
We foster knowledge exchange and collaboration among all stakeholders in the trail sector, uniting them to speak with one strong voice. We work on sustainable organizational models and funding structures for trail management organizations, including advocacy for increased financial support at the European level. We are creating a universal trail classification standard that enables existing standards to be related or translated, helping trail users make informed choices. European Trails sets trail certification standards and prioritizes upgrading existing trails over building new ones.
Double Membership
European Trails represents the European chapter of the World Trails Network (WTN). Our members automatically become full members of the WTN, enabling them to collaborate with the global trail management community.

Donate to Trail Organization
Bringing Donors and Trail Managers Together
Outdooractive (OA) directly connects donors with trail organizations, which often rely heavily on volunteer work. Donations fund trail construction, maintenance and marking, training, first aid measures, and repairs after storms or heavy use.
Are you ready to donate?
OA forwards the received payment — minus the fees charged by the external payment service provider — to the trail organization responsible. The amount each organization receives depends on the section of the trail it manages. If certain sections of a hiking trail have not yet been assigned to a specific organization, the funds are forwarded as an alternative to the next higher umbrella organization, such as European Trails e.V. (ET).
Are You Responsible for a Trail Yourself?
Whether you manage a long-distance trail, a local trail network in a region, or represent an organization that promotes these trails, Outdooractive connects you with trail users. Manage your trail digitally, communicate with users in real time and receive donations.
